Is it possible to ride a bike form Kapfenberg to the nearest civilization?
That is the question that I asked my self last Saturday.
So why would any one go trough such ordeal..... is it to save 10€, or to learn more about my surroundings, to see the country side, money and fame, or just sheer craziness (for bikes). I'm not sure, I guess a little bit of all of the above!
So it was Saturday 4pm and I'm in Kapfenberg and the goal is to get to Graz in round about three hours, else the sun gets down and it gets to cold! That is 60 km, 20km/h...... yeah right!
Last checks on the bike. We've identified a couple of minor problems
that is:
the front brakes don't work,
and the back ones are not to be trusted,
I definitely need to fix the front wheel ........
well I knew that from before just need to say
why I look so busy on the picture!
On the road again........Well 30 down, 30 to go!
So what did I see on my way there? I've established that the land scape is as green as nowhere else that I've been before. The river Mur is actually Mura (as we call it back home and runs down all the way to Croatia) It's all very tidy. There are cows, sheep and chicken living very close to Graz......oh yeh! and the road to Graz is almost all the way downhill!!!
18:45........
Austria is one of the rear country that have a
band on Nuclear plants. The reason would probably
be their closeness to nature. From every urban center
it's never far to the nearest green oasis.

So! eventually I got there safe and sound, just about on time to celebrate bday from a frend of my Sabina, who is studying in Graz, and her room mate Marija. An international party with Croatian, Austrians, Polaks, Germans and Turks!
Sabina on the right! crazy Croatian girls.....
